Ze Darlington Zeon was named Coordinator of Event Operations in November 2013 and promoted to Manager of Event Operations in July 2014. He is responsible for all operations during athletic and special events, including setup and breakdown and management of equipment. He also manages a staff of graduate assistants and students and oversees the events budget. Zeon joined Stony Brook after five years at Saint Peter's University, where he was the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations and Facilities.
While at Saint Peter's, Zeon also served as sports administrator for baseball, women's soccer, men's and women's Tennis and volleyball and also oversaw the athletics department's work-study program.
Zeon was instrumental in facility projects at Saint Peter's, including the installation of permanent baseball and softball fencing, windscreens at the baseball, softball and soccer fields and drainage systems at baseball and softball as well as new sod and clay at the baseball field.
Administratively, Zeon was chairperson of the MAAC Indoor Track & Field committee and Volleyball committee, spearheaded Saint Peter's bid and award of the 2011 MAAC Volleyball Championship and adopted emergency plan procedures for the department.
Prior to his tenure at Saint Peter's, Zeon was the Athletic Facilities Supervisor and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Ramapo College of New Jersey. While at Ramapo, he coordinated athletic events and monitored all athletic activities. He was also a student assistant to the Coordinator of Athletic Facilities at Ramapo from 2003-2006.
Zeon is a 2006 graduate of Ramapo College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts. While at Ramapo, he played two years of soccer and two years of volleyball. Before attending Ramapo, Zeon was a student-athlete at Brookdale Community College, where he was a member of the 2002 Div. III National Finalist men's soccer team, serving as the team's starting goalkeeper and captain for two seasons.
During the 2006-2007 NBA season, Zeon was a Basketball Operations Department Intern for the New Jersey Nets. While with the Nets, he assisted in all aspects of basketball operations and worked under the Assistant General Manager, Bobby Marks and then-Head Coach Lawrence Frank. He assisted players and coaches during practices and also assisted with statistics on game nights.
Zeon is a member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).He is also a member of the BCA (Black Coaches & Administrators), the NCAA Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct committee. He earned his master's degree at Saint Peter's University in December 2010 and currently resides in Port Jefferson Station.
