Former Stony Brook women's lacrosse student-athlete Jenna Spenard joins the administration as the coordinator of business operations in February 2011. Spenard lettered at Stony Brook from 2006-09 and was a four-year All-America East defender.

Spenard returns to Stony Brook after working at Insight Research Group, where she was the lead person responsible for the development and implementation of marketing initiatives. Prior to that, she was an assistant lacrosse coach for Mount Sinai High School and the Long Island Yellow Jackets summer lacrosse club.

Spenard was arguably the greatest defender in Stony Brook's brief program history. After earning a medical redshirt in 2005, she returned in 2006 to earn All-America East second team and All-Rookie honors for her defense. She was a first-team selection in 2007 as a sophomore after posting 19 ground ball and 11 caused turnovers and helped the Seawolves win the America East regular season championship. In 2008 and 2009, she was second-team All-America East and captained the team her senior season.

Today, Spenard is still Stony Brook's all-time leader in games played (69) and is in the top 10 in ground balls with 89.

Spenard earned her bachelor's degree in Health Science from Stony Brook in 2008 and then earned her MBA from Stony Brook in 2010.
