Beth Ann Clyde joined the Stony Brook athletics staff in January 2013 as an assistant director of athletic communications. Clyde is the primary media contact for women's basketball, women's lacrosse, volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
No stranger to Seawolves Country, Clyde volunteered at SBU-hosted athletics events prior to joining the staff, including basketball games and the 2012 Women's Lacrosse Final Four.
She most recently worked as an athletic communications intern at Harvard, where she handled publicity for men's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's fencing and sailing. She also assisted heavily with men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and football and coordinated the department's live streaming efforts.
Before arriving at Harvard, she served as a sports information graduate assistant and media relations director for the club rugby team at Ithaca College. Clyde previously interned with ESPN and worked in the group sales department for the Trenton Thunder, the AA-affiliate of the New York Yankees.
A native of Somerset, N.J., Clyde graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. At Syracuse, she worked as a producer, reporter and anchor for CitrusTV, the student television station. During her term as Executive Producer of CitrusTV's On the Bench, the show received the Open Student Television Network award for "Best Collegiate Sports Show."
Clyde completed her master's in sport management at Ithaca College in December 2012 and currently lives in Lake Grove, N.Y., with her Chihuahua, Topanga.
