P.A.W.S. (Providing Atheletes With Scholarships)
The Seawolves Club was founded in 1998 to provide financial assistance for the University's intercollegiate athletic program. The club encompasses the annual five-week P.A.W.S. (Providing Athletes With Scholarships) Campaign, the Seawolves Club Board of Directors and is made up of all supporters who donate to Seawolves Athletics.
Today the Seawolves Club provides over 400 student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the Division I level while obtaining a quality education at one of the top public research institutions in the country.
As SBU's athletic teams receive no scholarship funding from the state, the Seawolves Club is integral to the growth and success of Seawolves Athletics. Through the generous donations of loyal alumni, staff and friends, young men and women are able to be here at Stony Brook, carrying out their dreams of playing Division I athletics. Their scholarships allow them to represent the university in competition throughout the Long Island community and across the nation.
As a Seawolves Club member, you'll enjoy unique benefits and the fellowship of Seawolves supporters who, like yourself, take pride in providing a student-athlete with a quality education. Benefits include priority points for preferred seat location for Seawolves football, basketball and lacrosse games, invitations to special events and receptions, as well as discounts on select Seawolves merchandise. All donors are invited to the annual P.A.W.S. Campaign Kick Off and Victory Celebration and receive a subscription to the Seawolves Den, the official publication of the Stony Brook Seawolves. Membership is maintained through an annual contribution to the Club. Benefits take effect on July 1st every calendar year immediately following a contribution made prior to June 30th and continue for one calendar year. You'll also receive tax benefits for your gift.
We encourage you to join the Seawolves Club family and become a part of the group of individuals who truly enjoy supporting Seawolves Athletics. Your commitment to the team demonstrates your support for the growing traditions and ideals that help "Build Champions".
